Mencraft - Initiation and Personal Quest for Men
Mencraft is Initiation and personal quest conducted as a rites of passage for men who long to grow in their inner leadership and self transformation.Every Man aspires to stand in his full capability and express his immense potential and presence in all aspects of life. He is born with a purpose waiting to be lived. And when he can gain clarity of that purpose, he suddenly feels liberated and light.
Initiation is about connecting with life, understanding the cosmos, and finding ones own belonging in it
When we listen to the elements of nature, the oceans, the trees, the sky, the mountains, the earth, the fire, we are seen and heard and witnessed by these elders. Our deep questions are answered, our energies are lifted and that helps us heal from within.
About Mencraft:
Authenticity is the most important aspect. An authentic person is true to his own personality. He is himself, acts from his own motives,is aware of what he wantsand what he stands for.
Need for Mencraft as a Initiation Journey
This primordial nature of Masculinity is deep rooted in every boy and can only be accessed through help of a mature father, a mature man or fellowship of men and can't be learnt in any other place, it can't be learned in school, from other boys or from women.
In olden traditions and that of the gurukul, and among the sadhus, shamans, sufis, mauris, boys were initiated in the wilderness, away from home into becoming mature Men.
The result of abandoning the masculine initiation is a world of unfinished and uninitiated men, struggling, striving, sulking, uncertain, angry and without a purpose in life leading to toxic masculinity.
It's imperative that for boys to become men they need to be initiated, undergo a process, journey and many experiences in the path to realise their fullest masculine nature and potential to make this world a better place.
Intention and Objective for Mencraft
- Rediscovering our natural energetic compass to navigate through our relationships with the feminine and the world in general
- Connecting with the universe and ones own primodial essence.
- Letting go of conditioning that brings up fear, shame, guilt and grief.
- Mastering the energy of anger, (which is the masculine expression of old wounds) and channeling it for being in service of the world.
- Mastering all our dependencies, be it addictions of any kind or our neediness of others (particularly the feminine) to feel Joyful
- Sacred brotherhood is the space of tribe-building (the ones we can rely on for our warrior-ship and king-ship), both with our fellow brothers and our lineage of ancestors.
- A space of wild dreaming of building our kingdoms without any fear of being judged or called out for failure.
- A space of serious silliness and wild playfullness
Who is it for:
It will appeal to men in any profession and life stage but, more importantly, to those who intend to journey within towards mature and sacred masculinity.
This program is offered twice a year in India. Only 12 participants are taken into the programme.

What will be the Experience Like:
No matter where the hero goes and what his adventure entails, his journey is always an inner journey of self-discovery, and his goal is always that of character development.” ~Joseph Campbell
We will also practice several rituals and self-attunement practices that will enable us to open ourselves up to the experience of developing a wholesome self- presence. And return with the gift of the self, for ourselves, those we love, and humanity at large.
The desire to know your own self will lay to rest all other desires - Rumi
What can you Harvest:
Mencraft is offered to help you develop a greater presence in mind, body, feeling, spirit, and speech and connect with yourself and your awareness in a fully embodied authentic masculine presence.
On a more personal level, participants will identify the standards they wish to bring to their lives in terms of actions to help them be who they wish to be. And, most importantly, a community of brothers to belong to.
What can you expect :
We will have deeper conversations with the self, nature, and cultivate a soulful relationship with ourselves, others, and life. In this reconnection with nature, we will find our own understanding, liberation, and embodiment of our selves.
Mencraft is designed to unleash the inner leadership and capability of a man through a initiation journey and involves 3 phases
A. Preparation Stage:
This is a preparation phase to prepare for the mencraft journey and will support the participants to get to know themselves and their intention for the journey. In this phased, participants will also learn self-management techniques that will support their actual journey. This is also a good time to connect with the tribe. The preparation phase will begin 3 months before the journey with 2 sessions of 3 hours each per month.B. The Initiation Journey Stage is 10 days wilderness quest in 3 Stages of 3 Days each.
2.Transition - Passaging
3.ReUnion - Incorporation
Separation or Departure – A removal from what we know. A removal from our safe environments, loved ones and biases. A place where men are stripped bare and experience themselves. Alone, raw and basic they have to experience some sort of a raw journey.
It is the phase of preparing to leave everything behind, gathering together just what you will need for your journey. You are preparing to leave a known life while the unknown awaits you.
You will be able to realize your true identity as an all-pervasive presence and being, which is distinct from all forms and identifications, leading to inner peace and contentment.
For some, they will go through an inner separation from inner identification of the ego; for others, it would be to complete the mens initiation into mature masculinity.
Transition or passaging– This is the “crux”. Here men experience growth, change and learning. It’s in this phase that they move from where they were to where they can be. It’s in the transition phase that they experience pain, wonder, fear, loss, joy, self-enlightenment, purpose.
This is the liminal space between the leaving behind the known and embracing the unknown and with its newer discoveries. This is the time of solitude, hunger, exposure, and the powerful trials that will test your human spirit and your purpose to transition to what you have come for.
Here Time can slow down, and the stillness of nature can be very powerful. As your thoughts begin to empty out, you can look into the pool of your own being, noticing how you are, what your dreams are made of, what you need to let go of.
Reincorporation or Arrival – This is where the men return and speak their inner truth, their process and experience. It’s a safe place because we get to share it with those who’ve been through a similar experience at a similar time and place. They then return to their communities and connect with people in their lives with new awareness.
The Reunion or Incorporation or Arrival phase begins with integration, assimilation, and incorporation of new standards and preparation to return to a new life. You have to come off the wilderness and return to family, friends, and community.
This may be the hardest part of the journey! To live the hard-won knowledge and insight you've found will take courage, but the world needs the gift of your understanding and insight. The Quest was not only about you but about your family, people, other men and community.
After the end of the 10 days, journey participants will join the mencraft brotherhood or any other brotherhood or create their own.
C. Sacred Brotherhood Circle : The sacred brotherhood phase is safe space for continuous journey of growth and evolution where men participate regularly and support each other.

Testimonials
-Anup Talwar.
The facilitator-coach profession is inhabited by people with different mindsets. One doesn't always encounter practitioners whose purpose is to help their fellow human. Nor does one regularly encounter practitioners who keep working on themselves and their craft.
Diyanat is among that rare breed that is both passionate about helping people and honing his own craft.
His latest "SelfCraft" expedition is something I am quite enthused by.
